Galician brand in operation since 1920. Ramón Peña is best known for its tiered edition system: gold and silver tins graded by sardine size and quality. The gold edition contains the smaller fish from a given season; the silver is the standard grade.
Sardines are sourced from Galician estuaries and the Cantabrian Sea, hand-packed in olive oil. The sardinillas format (very small sardines, high count per tin) is particularly sought after.
